1967 Great Dane 28
Almost 77 years ago a young Dane sailed his Dragon Class racing dinghy into Bronze Medal position in the 1948 Olympic Games. These were the first Olympic Games held after WW II, and the sailing events were held in Torbay, South West England. That young man went on to build many boats, the most famous being the Great Dane 28: his name was Klaus Baess. Launched at the London Boat Show in 1967, the GD28 was an instant success. The hull was made from hand-laid fibreglass to Lloyd's Specification. In 1969 Baess sailed the GD 28 into first place in the Yachting World One-of-a-Kind Rally, beating ne... read more

1988 Sadler 26
Zulu is probably the best example of a well maintained Sadler 26 around. Launched in 1988 from her pristine condition one could be forgiven for thinking that she is only a few years old. From stem to stern Zulu is in sparkling order and bristling with equipment. The Sadler 26 is the ultimate small yacht with more room below than her sleek external appearance would suggest. The extra room and efficient utilisation of space makes the Sadler 26 one of the few 26-footers truly suited to long cruises with a family crew. 1982 Colvic Countess 28
The Colvic Countess 28 needs no introduction, this ubiquitous marque has been around since 1980. Many were home completed to varying standards, some indifferent but some surprisingly good. Georgy Girl, being factory built definitely falls into the latter category. Georgy Girl benefits from recent upgrades of new sails, including cruising chute with snuffler, plus she was re-engined just a few years ago. Whilst not intended as a racer she has a sufficient turn of speed for the discerning cruising sailor, that is what Ian Anderson the designer and Colvic Craft Ltd UK who were based in Essex se... read more
