TThe beautifully shaped, Knud H. Reimers designed, Tumlare class look absolutely stunning and they don’t disappoint when it comes to sailing either.
The Tumlare has a slim hull with a distinctive canoe stern and stern-hung rudder. This particular boat built in 1937 has been in the West Country for most of her life and most recently been moored on the Tamar at Saltash.
Lovingly maintained in recent years, she is located in East Cornwall, on well-maintained road trailer, ready for the 2025 season.
This class has real pedigree and the famous Adlard Coles described in his book ‘Heavy Weather Sailing’ a Channel voyage in a Tumlare when he experienced quite extreme conditions, and he reported that the yacht behaved impeccably.
• New deck circa 2017 – yellow cedar planking epoxy sheathed
